"Mr. Corporate"

I’m on a lunch break at work right now so I thought I would share “Tracy a.k.a. Mr. Corporate” with you. This was taken by an associate at our annual office Christmas luncheon about a month ago. Notice the obligatory “Hello My Name Is….” sticker on my lapel. Silly thing but no one recognized me because I had let my hair grow longer, but it is a bit shorter now.
It is my second day back at work and I have so much to do but I just can’t get focused! I took last week off as a holiday gift to myself but didn’t enjoy it much due to some unexpected personal issues that arose. I wish I had a toggle switch in my head so I could turn on and off certain thoughts. Switch #1 = Work, Switch #2 = Family, Switch #3 = personal life etc, etc. But all my switches are going off all at once and it is hard to focus; and I’m afraid the extended warranty ran out on my gray matter a long time ago so I can’t take it in for repairs. When I get home it is so quiet and I feel like I should be “doing something”. I’ve never been a parent but I think this must be what it’s like in a house when all the children have gone. I love that old house but there are so many memories there, old and new that I get the urge to just have an estate sale and start somewhere new. I know it will pass in time but the flames of time burn way too long. But then I do have an awful lot of fuel for the fire.
Oh well. If anybody is reading this, hope you are all having a good day wherever you are. Lunch hour is over and I must get back to the hum-drum “honest days work for an honest days pay”.
Happy Hump Day!
