S.A.R.A.
Thought of the day……..
Two different friends of mine have suffered major personal losses during the past holiday season which humbles me when I sometimes feel sorry for myself for my own problems. I am a corporate training facilitator by trade and I have a colleague in town visiting. We were discussing loss and the stages associated with it. He described it as S.A.R.A. I’m thinking, “Who’s Sarah?” It’s actually an acronym for “Shock”, “Anger”, “Resentment” and “Acceptance”. I thought it was pretty clever, true and poignant. I empathize with these dear friends and I want them to know I am with them during their SARA experiences and moments. Sometimes she visits for a short while, sometimes she stays a long while and other times she pops in and visits unexpectedly. But she never stays permanently.
Let’s hope it’s a short visit.
